CHILD SAFETY (continued)
Deactivation of the front
passenger airbag
(if fitted)
To install a rear-facing child seat on
the front passenger seat you must
deactivate the front passenger
airbag.
To deactivate the airbag: switch off
the ignition, push and turn lock 4 to
the OFF position. The airbag is
deactivated.
With the ignition switched on,
check that warning light 5, AIRBAG
OFF on the dashboard is lit up.
This warning light remains lit to
confirm that you can fit a child seat,
as the passenger airbag has been
deactivated.
Local legislation regarding the
transport of children must be
respected.
DANGER
Since front passenger airbag
triggering and the position
of a rear-facing child seat
are incompatible, it is not permitted
to install such a seat in this position
unless the vehicle is fitted with an
airbag deactivation device. The
child may suffer very serious
injuries if the airbag inflates.
The label (on the dashboard) and
the markings (on the sun visor)
remind you of these instructions.
